Subject: Oil leaks with air flow mod
IP: Logged

Message:
Everytime I open up my 1992 dakota for more air, I get oil leaks. First I took off the plastic flap in the front, behind the grill, afterwards I found oil leaks (hard to isolate exact location). I reversed mod, no more leaks. Then I dropped in a K&N filter and flipped the air filter cover (provides 3/4 inch gap all the way around the filter), more oil leaks. Reversed mod, no more leaks.

has anyone had this problem??? Any clues???

That sounds really weird, what is causing the increased pressure in the crankcase to push oil out? Maybe replace the PCV valve. Totally weird!
