Subject: Class III Hitch installation IP: Logged
Message: Hi there,
I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport 4WD with a step bumper. How difficult is it to install a Class III hitch? If there is drilling is it difficult?
Thanks. Apprciate the advice.

Message: I installed one on my old 95 CC 4x4. Yes, you need to do some drilling. I needed to remove a couple bolts that supported the bumper and cut them (2 bolts welded to a plate so you can put both in at the same time). It's not that difficult but you need a good drill and bit for metal.
Some shops will do the install for relatively cheap (around $50 as I recall). I purchased mine at TSC when I visited my in-laws. Too bad we drove my wife's car because that TSC would install any hitch they sold for $25.

Message: Thanks for the reply. I made a few calls today and U-Haul will install for 25.00 plus their having a sale on Class III hitches. Any for 109.95.
I think I will save myself the aggravation and have them install.
Thanks again!
