Subject: proper gear to tow IP: Logged
Message: I've never towed anything with my Dakota. THis weekend I will be be towing a car (mid-large size) using one of those car dollies (front wheels off ground, rear wheels roll). Is it best to turn off the overdrive?? Should I drive in low gear?? I will be going about 200 miles. I don't want to ruin my trannny, any help would be appreciated.

Message: Just use the O/D Off button, and you'll be fine, Before you leave, just hit "OD Off" and put the truck in drive, and you'll be all set. Just remember to check your fluids, etc.
