Message: Note of caution to whoever plans to install March Performance overdrive pulleys. All 3 pulleys in the kit are of the bolt on type. This could be true for other brands as well, like ASP. Check your water pump pulley first. I guess in some older Dakotas (like in my 95 V6), the water pump pulley is press fit, not bolt on. So I could use only 2 pulleys (crank and alternator) out of 3. Talked with March and they say sorry, we don't have press fit water pump pulley. But they agreed to exchange it for power steering pulley.

Message: Hi, 95V6!
Actually, I believe all "Magnum" engines, V6 and V8, had water pumps with bolt-on pulleys through sometime in 1998. Then, Chrysler changed to a pump design with a press-on pulley. Lately, it seems if you buy an "all-new" pump-- not remanufactured-- you'll get a pump with a press-on pulley regardless of the year of your ride. I think Chrysler has superseded replacement parts for all years to the later press-on design, as well. If you opt for a reman, you'll sometimes have a choice between bolt-on or press-on pulley. ASFAIK, the two pump styles are identical, except for the pulley design.
Nothing major, just another something to keep this hobby interesting!
This is mainly why I haven't opted for the March (or others) pulley sets: It'd be all shiny pulleys or nothing for my tastes...

Message: You're probably right, Purple1. Looking at March website, they got pulleys for Magnum 91 to 97 only. So I guess 98 is indeed when Chrysler switched to press fit.
