hi,i whont to know when you pul out the valve body how do you disconect the rod inside the tranny (42re a/t)

There is an E-clip that holds the rod to the shift lever on the valve body. Be careful, they will go flying. You can leave the rod connected if you're pulling the valve body out. Jus tpull the whole thing out. You have to hold your tongue just right to get it back in without a problem. That's how I'd do it.

You can pull it with out removing the e clip
just pull it out when you go to put it back in
ypu may need to turn the drive shaft a little
so it pops back in
