Subject: Headers and JET ll

Message:
Iam looking to get Gibson headers for my 02 3.9 CC Dak but know whether to get Chrome or Stainless. I would get the chrome but from previous headers on other trucks I've seen that the chrome gets that blue brown color around the bends, have they come out with a new chrome process where it wont do this anymore or will it still turn blue/brown. My second question is the JET stage ll performance chip does anyone have and how do they work, and will it still perform with my mods to the best it can. Thanks for the help.

I just purchased a jet stage 2 chip two weeks ago, I emeadiatly noticed an increase in power and noticed that shifting is smoother less drag., stayes in a lower gear longer which gives a faster take off. I have done a few mods, series 40 flow master muffler, T/B spacer, cold air intake. and will continue to do other things sutch as headers, and port and polish heads,8mm
spark plug wires, larger fule injectors bigger fule pump, 180 degree thermostat. in the next month, I will see if these other mods have any affect. By the way i got my chip on Ebay for $125.00 half the cost of any dealer i could find.

the problem with jet chips is that the computer will learn its way around them. at first, you will notice an increase, but after time, the increase will go away and your truck will go back to the way that it was before the chip. this has been proven on the dyno. the only chips that work, are superchips tuners or hypertech power programmers that actually reprogram the pcm instead of modifying signals like the jet chip does.

GET IN, SIT DOWN, SHUTUP, AND HOLD ON
custom 48mm tb, tps @ .768, relocated IAT, 180 t-stat, autolite double platinum, taylor wires, flowmaster 40 delta flow single in/dual out, CAI, superchips tuner

That is not entierly true the comp will learn but
with new peramiders and will run a tighter
air/fuel ratio and a few degrees advance in timing

The stage 2 chips will give you better gas mileage
and better low end because of this and you will
also notice more power around 2500 3000 rpm every
truck we have used the chips on showed a 1 to 3
mpg increase in mileage

But putting the headers on will not show much
increase untill you improve the intake side
Bigger throttle body cold air and 1.7 rockers
and the headers will get you around 30 to 35 hp
at the rear wheels
