Subject: HELP PLEASE READ (aslo O2 sensor ?) IP: Logged
Message: Alright i previously posted the question about the nocking noise i have on my truck and i found out its a crack manafold. BTW it is a huge crack. It started out small so i just contiued driving it but now i have took the hole manafold off and the hole back side has a enormous crack. I have a extra manafold off of a 88 dakota. One problem is there is no hole for the 02 sensor? Was it that 88s didnt have them? Theres the space to put one in but i would have to drill it myself. I have also noticed that this manafold started to crack in the same spot almost like dodge had a heat issue with these manafold. Bad enough it happend to mine but for it to be on another one from a completely different truck makes me wonder. When i had other problems with my truck unpluggin the 02 sensors wire didnt seem to cause any problems with the truck running or running hard so im wondering if i just put the other manafold on i wont have any issues with how it runs. Would this have any affect if i dont put it back on? I know there important but seeing how theres no plug for the 88s manafold makes me wonder how such a important part not even be there. It is carburated so i dont know if that affects the importance of the 02 senor. Sorry for such a long post but the more info going out the better chance someone can answer my questions.
one other question? can you weild dakota manafold? of if there cast iron u cant but if there caste steal wouldnt u be able to? Im not sure thast why im asking.
someone please give me input on this

Message: 87dak i,d drill and tap the manifold for the O2
it could make the truck harder on gas without it,
88s had a O2 put they were in the exsh pipe
