Subject: Catalytic Question IP: Logged
Message: Hello I have a 3.9 I was wondering how many cats are on the 3.9s i only see one when i look under my truck. Im looking to take it off isn't there a chip or something to trick the computer to think there is a cat on? Anyone know the link to the site that sells them?

Message: Only one catalytic converter, hope you don't have emissions testing like here in wisconsin, I had mine off at one point, but installed a high flow cat with a flowmaster muffler, sounds nice for a 6 popper.

Message: dont cut it off, you will regret it, I did. You may get a little more low end power, but you will lose some in the upper mid range. 3.9s need the back pressure. Do like Rebeldak said and you will be much happier, I have the same setup.

Message: You will not get better gas mileage. It's also a violation of federal law, punishable by $2,500 fine, a felony. Even if your state doesn't test emissions, if you get caught, you can get a criminal record. At the very least, when you sell it, you will be forced to pay for a new one. The high-flow cats work well.
