 Subject: hoppin up the 3.9, need some help

well i just got an old 3.9 from my work for free, the engines got 180k and i tore it down and im currently sending the block and heads to be rebuilt and ported, now im trying to find the best place to buy
-jba headers
-crower rockers i dont know whether to go with 1.6 or 1.7
-performance cam
-forged pistons if possible if not the 2nd best, i know 5.2 and 3.9 have the same bore and stroke so luckly ill have a better chance getting forged ones
-valve covers for clearance issues, im thinking old premagnum valve covers but where could i get them? my luck at a junkyard would be slim to none

hughesengines.com have pistons and cams,they also carry roller rockers,
i,m not sure if they have crowler
if your changing the cam you should,nt need the 1.7 rockers with the selection of cams they have and clearance issue should,nt be a problem with valve covers,

ive been readin up on it and i heard theres clearance problems with the baffle inside the valvecover.
i found headers by edelbrock but it didnt specify what year it was for

There are clearance issues with stock covers/baffles. all you have to do is get a piece of 2x4 that will fit inside, stick valve cover and 2x4 in a vice and squeeze the baffle in about 1/2 inch. Lot easier and cheaper than buying new ones.

harland sharp roller rockers
no mod. needed on the valve covers or anything else,
Jegs and summit carry them for our motors

i looked at hughesengines.com but they dont have anything forged im wondering if those domed pistons will be strong enough for nitrous and a supercharger(much later)
