Subject: Coolant Temp IP: Logged
Message: I've noticed lately, that my coolant temp gauge needle fluctuates accross the "2" in 210....so I can only assume this is like 190-205. Coolant level is ok and no leaks. My question is...is this normal to see the gauge move like that...or is it a precursor of bad things to come?

Message: that's not normal. usually the needle goes up to 190 and then just sits there all the way.
Have you checked the radiator for damages? maybe some of the fines are broken.
Also check the water pump. Squeeze the upper radiator hose with the engine running and then remove the pressure on it. you should feel the water flushing through the hose.

Message: I know my truck is not the sdame as yours but
my needle flucuated for a while and then wouldnt work. The problem was in the wiring - it was corroded at the temp sensor.
Gotta love them on ramps!
