Subject: NOS vs. Supercharger IP: Logged
Message: Which way should I go. I know the pros and cons for both, but Iam not sure what to do. A supercharger is 4000 big ones Vs. NOS which is about 800 but the horsepower gains aren't that far off from each other. My dilema is that the truck is a daily driver and I dont know if it's a good thing to drive all the time with that supercharger I mean can you drive daily with a supercharger and will it be able to perform when I need it to. I live in Seattle and there is a butt load of traffic and thats one of the reasons I bought a V6 but I want more power and am willing to spend the money. What amount of boost should I use I hear a lot of people using 75 Shot. Thanks fo the help.

Message: With the Supercharger the cash outlay is a one shot deal. With the NOS, you have to fill it when it goes dry. Where I come from, thats $60.00 each 10 lb. bottle. Count how many times you think you may use the NOS and see if it would add up. I think the Supercharger is the way to go if you want to use it often. If you just want to race once in a while, the NOS is the way to go but use a good high octane fuel or you will put holes in your pistons. I used NOS on my 72 340 Swinger and it was great! I only went as high as 125 HP jets though, with cast pistons. NOS is fun!
