Subject: Tranny movement?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey guys, been a long time since I've posted here. The past few days I've started to notice a problem with the shifter in my 96' 3.9L. When I'm in first or second gear, and I push the gas pedal down, the shifter knob moves to the right side of the cab a considerable amount. I figure it's probably just a tranny mount or engine mount since I don't baby this truck when it comes to accelerating. My concern is that it only happens in first and second gear, third, fourth, and fifth don't produce the same results as they barely move enough to detect it. Any ideas on anything that might cause this and how to check them?

The gear ratios in the trans. coupled with the rear end do not make the drivetrain "torque" as much in 3rd and 4th as they do in 1st and 2nd.

Check your mounts.
