I got a '93 Dakota with a 3.9 thats got 170,000 miles. It runs great but I average around 11 miles per gallon. Its got a Holley 52mm TB and a Holley intake. I was just wondering if this is normal? If not, any ideas on fixing it? I'm trying to pay my way through college but I love this truck, so anything will help. Thanks

yea i am, highway mpg. keep it at the speed limit and not 80 or more, keep a light foot on the pedel also. most important keep the truck in top shape and keep those tires aired up.

like fed said, the 52mm tb is way too much unless you have some major engine mods... bored, stroked, cammed, forced induction. also did you purchase the "holley" intake. i was unaware that holley made intakes for the 3.9.

Both of my TBs are holley, the original 3.9 one and the 5.2 I have on there now. They were both factory. If I am not mistaken, all the 3.9's got holley TBs from the factory.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

i believe dodge outsourced some there tbs to holley. not all 3.9's got holleys. some have the holley markings on them and some dont. the two are identical, so if you have the holley version, it is no better than the other. of coarse when i bore either one, i mill the letters off anyway. hmm.. i should ingrave DAVE'S THROTTLE BODIES in the ones that i do. :)

its going ok i guess. i just did one for zzark. he just said that he shipped his old one back to me so i can get started on if for you Fed. im supposed to get more money from my boss for a christmas bonus after christmas. he already gave me some which i turned around and spent on a new deer rifle. i am saving up for a superchip tuner for my next mod. hopefully the new tonneau cover that i am getting for christmas will help out my gas mileage. i know that i am getting it because i had to order it and pay for it using my own ebay account and my parents payed me back.

You'll enjoy the SuperChip tuner. Believe me, you will have a "tire-roasting good time".
