Broke it, how?

Take some aluminum strips (home depot) and make a bridge to cover the break.

Unless of course its like to big of a break.

I cut mine at the bottom a few years ago to be able to get it off easier and used mentioned fix.

Good luck, Scott

It broke into three pieces. I tryed to pull it out around the fan and it just broke, must have gotten twisted. Right now all I have is the side that holds the coolent overflow. I think I'll have to get a new one. But I want to know if it does anything except keep hoses and stuff out of the fan. Does it help keep the air around the fan?

I dont know about Gen3's but 2's it dosnt keep hoses off the fan.

Depending on how warm it is where you live is how much you need the shroud.

V6's fans are quite a ways from the radiator so its safe to say they wont pull much air without the shroud.

Get any electric fan and do away with your power robbing belt drivin fan.

Good luck, Scott

P.S.

FlexALites are really good fans but are a bit expensive to match.

I have a Hayden flowing 2800 CFM and it seems to be doing the job on my V6 just fine, if it was a V8 it may be a different story.

I do recomend a fan that flows 2000 CFM or greater though.

Jegs and Summit both carry the Black Magic, I got my Hayden at Pep Boys for about half.

If your wanting install and forget it type thing than install a thermostat control with it, if you want some conrol and I mean being able to turn yor fan off for some xtra HP for a run than install a thermo with a master switch in the cab.
I can turn mine off to run and I can also leave it on (if its hot enough) while the trucks off to cool down the rad while sitting.

Both the elec fan and thermo kit both come with pretty good instructions on how to install them correctly.

Feel free to email me personally if you decide to attempt this and I will guide you all i can via email.

Took me about 2 hours after I got the stock fan off (what a biotch!!)

Good luck, Scott
