Need opinions on this please. I have a 99 3.9 w/ Auto tranny - 2WD w/ 122K. Tranny fluid changed on a regular schedule according to Dodge recommendations. When the tranny is cold, it takes a while before it will shift from 2nd to 3rd. It will rev for about 10 seconds before it will shift. Once it's shifted into 3rd, it's fine and will continue to shift normally into Overdrive. When the tranny get's warmed up to normal operating temperature, it shifts fine from 2nd to 3rd. I've never had the tranny flushed, just changed the fluid and filter when I was supposed to. Any ideas? Thanks

i was having lags before shifts but they were more like 5 secs. i know that you should use the mopar trans fluid have you been? when i had that in there it didn't lag between shifts. in the morning or when ever the engine is cold i let the truck idle in neutral for a minute and it tens to shift better. give that a try and see if it does anything.

I have a 97 Dak Auto trans and had issues with slipping gears and such. I had the valve body rebuilt with a mild shift kit and have never had a problem sense.

How much did it cost you to have the valve body rebuilt?
