Message: what david said...
Dodge Dakotas were'nt built to be firebreathing race cars
but that does'nt mean you can't make them race trucks!
it's all about time and cash.

Message: david, big difference between the peak hp # from a bike and peak hp# from a truck. try putting that bike engine in a 4,000lb vehicle, it'll just make a bunch of noise. torque is what gets you moving.
greg k, read this article. it'll show you how and where to get started on making some more power out of your 3.9

Message: Yes your right....torque is what moves a car/truck/bike.....my bike makes 80 ft pounds of torque at 9875rpm......I was only stating that for being such a heavy truck, they should have at least put in an engine that makes about 225hp/230ft/lbs of torque. Maybe then it would move a little better......You should not have to punch the pedal everytime you want the truck to move at a higher rate of speed......IMO this truck is VERY slow....

Message: david correct me if i'm wrong but is the zx10r a street bike? if that is a street bike its probably loosing 7% of its power through the drive train. the dakota is loosing 20-25% power though the drive train. alright it is a street bike after reading your last post! like you stated the street bike only has 80ft\lbs/tq. if you think the v6 is to slow go to the v8. the v8 has 235hp and 300ft thats alot of power to have fun with!! and please don't compare watermelons and grapes!!
how fast have you gone on that street bike david?
Sorry posted signature on 12/12 - 12/13/2005 that messed up FIREFOX screens! It worked ok in Internet Explorer. I'M SORRY!! Sincerely TOOLFAN

Message: I've gone about 176mph. Of course the speedo is about 7% off, so about 163mph. It was still pulling so i bet i could do about 175-179. Top Speed is rated at 186mph, but unless you have a new exhuast and a PCIII to get a new map you won't hit 186.

Message: The ZX10R is rated at 180hp at the crank. 162 at the rear wheel. But most average about 149-155 at the Rear Wheel.
