Message: i have stock goodyear tires on my V6 straight cab with a curtis plow.
anyone have an educated guess on what the tire pressure should be in the front and or the rear tires?
i filled them as specified on the tire and noticed a lot less traction during our storm today.
thanks

Message: Try 28-30 psi. Don't forget to put a little weight in the back.

Message: I've never had any problems with following the manufacturers recommendation. I usually put a few extra pounds in the front because of the added weight of the engine.
i've noticed that is what shops do with every set of tires I have had installed on all vehicles my wife and myself have owned.

Message: thanks, i am looking for best traction, i noticed with suggested psi, the dakota has very low traction. and with the plowing just around the corner, i played with the psi during the summer even though my tire guy set the psi (shouldn't have) anyways... i am attempting to find the best psi again, thanks for your help. (if it aint broken, dont fix it)

Message: I have stock size, 215 75 15.
The recommended is 30 front, 35 rear.
But I do 30 for both.
You can't always listen to the mfg.
Remember the Firestone/Ford tire problems.
Part of the cause was Ford said the tire pressure should be 26 psi.
And that's too damn low.
