Message: Hello, I have a 93 dakota with the 3.9 and im haveing a problom with the brakes. It started a few days ago, everything was fine when I drove it home from work that night but the next morning everytime I use the brakes I have to push the prtal almost all the way to the floor to stop, so I checked the fluid and it was full. Well I checked the fluid the next morning and it was still full and the petal was still doing the same thing so I just got used to it. Tonight On the way home from work it was still doing it, but this time when I hit the petal the brake and ABS lights both came on and went off a few seconds later, but came back on and stayed on for about 3 miles and went off agian, and as I was turning into my driveway the lights came on agian and went back off. My question is what is wrong with it? Im thinking the master cylinder has gone bad or maybe part of the ABS but I dont know much about brake systems with ABS. Any help is greatly appriciated.

Message: try bleeding the them
also look at the inside the wheels if you have a cylinder leak you'll see oil residue on inside tire/rim if you have a minut leak you might be sucking air into the lines when applying brakes
which would reduce your pedal
I had this problem on a ford windstar and the abs errors codes came from low fluid there is a sensor on the master cylinder oil tank
good luck keep pumping the brakes til you fix

Message: It sounds like the master cylinder is bad.
Seeing how you said there was no lose of fluid when you checked it and the brake light and abs light goes out after the pedal is released. I would replace it.
