Subject: check engine IP: Logged
Message: I've been getting a check engine light after driving for a while which goes away if I shut the car off. I've done most mods and haven't had this light come on before. 1995 Mods: 48mm TB,header, injectors, spark plugs, sparkplug wires, rotor, muffler, ignition system, coil, thermostat, K&N air filter. I'm thinking it might be a too rich or lean signal to the computer on occassion. Thanks.

Message: Thanks for the input. Codes are 12, 17 & 32. 12 is the battery having been disconnected. 17 is engine running cold too long, I don't think the 180 thermostat would cause that but it might with the weather getting colder, 32 is the EGR Solenoid circuit. Possible air fuel inbalance or a loose EGR value wire. I checked and didn't see anything obvious. Why would it just start now, I've had the mods for 4 months. Why's it go off when I turn the car off and not come back on? Thanks for the help.

Message: if it's an el cheapo tstat it would cause that 17 code. especially in colder weather. i would try putting a 195 back in, for winter at least.

Message: I hate changing the T stat, it's impossible to get at on a 95. I must drop the screw 10 times and spend 15 minutes each time looking for them. What's the secret? Small hands.
