Subject: Headlamp adjustment cable IP: Logged
Message: Anyone know where I can find a replacement headlamp adjustment cable, other than local junkyard? 96 Dakota, aero style headlamps. Plus, any tips on replacing?? Thanks...

Message: http://www.dodgeparts.com. Drill down under body parts for your year to front lamps, then headlamp components, then cable assy. Not cheap.
I just replaced my headlamp assemblies, and they are supposedly for 91-96. The adjust cables go onto torx screws, but the replacement lamps have 5mm hex screws, so the adjuster cables are now NG. But I can get in with a small socket to adjust, instead of using the intended torx screws on the radiator panel.

Message: Bob, thanks for the reply & info. On my Dak, adjustment cables are readily accessible. They go directly onto torx fittings, running from location on outer edge of metal next to the hood adjustment stops, where the adjustment screws (10mm) are located. No need to drill, thankfully. I can get to torx fitting (nearly obstructed by battery), but would prefer to have things working right. I have been looking at getting replacement lamps, considering they are scratched & don't put out great light, even having replaced bulbs. Your comment about replacement lamps is helpful. Thanks again. Charlie
