Sorry to tell you this man, but it is located in the tank as part of the fuel pump module. Between $200-$250. Easiest way I have found is to pull the bed back instead of dropping the tank. What I seen other people do is to add an in-line fuel filter to the fuel line on the driver's side frame rail like the older daks used to.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

2001 Dakota V-6 engine light on/check gages drive about 15
minutes fine after that no power can only get up to about 20
mph pingging sounds.Any ideas?
