Subject: problems in winter w/ no rubber flap

Has anyone had problems running their truck with no rubber flap in the winter? Just have the stock airbox without the elbow on it and mesh over the inlet and the rubber flap removed. Kinda wondering if anyone had problems with the inlet icing up in snow storms or freezing rain because that happens here in central WI. Just in case, I have some 4" flex pipe and clamp so if needed I can run the pipe back into the fenders stock location.

Never had any issues and Ohio winters aren't the greatest either.

i kinda did, my damn chrome edelbrock air cleaner assembly kept getting dirty..lol
i originally thought about that too when i first installed my edelbrock intake, because Canadian winters up north where i live sometimes go down to -50 so i just bought a winter cold front and never have i had any problems.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee
