Diagnose it first.

Can be almost too many things to list. Pressure leak anywhere in the system (condenser, hose, evaporator, drier), bad A/C relay, bad low pressure switch, bad high pressure switch, clogged expansion valve, bad computer, bad A/C climate switch, etc.....

Most commonly a leak.
