Hey what do you know! Finaly I got my Asp Pulleys.
I ordered them October 7 and today is November 7. So I guess a month is not that bad.

Question I have a 99 3.9L and I bought the ASP Crank & Alt. Pulleys, so what belt do I need?

I think it is a 95" 6 rib gates part#K060950

Does any one know if this is right?

Also what would you rate the difficulty level of this installation? I have changed the belt before, but never tried removeing the pulley?
Am I going to need any special parts/tools?

Thanks

the crank pulley is a snap. take the belt off and then take out the 4 bolts that hold the pulley to the dampener. have not done the alt pulley(i am wary of battery charging issues)but, with an impact wrench it should come right off.

Well I still haven't got around to installing because I am Not sure on the belt size? And I have been busy, but I thought I was Told Gates belt#K060950. If I put the crank and alt pullies on. Which I plan too, and a diiferent belt size for just the crank pulley.

Does anyone know where to find the answer to this question?

Also do I have to have an impact wrench or can I take the 1 bolt on the alt. pulley and the 4 bolts on the crank pulley off with a socket wrench?

They aren't reverse threded are they?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if these questions make me look stupid, but I need some help??

Look at http://www.aspracing.com/frame.htm . You need part # K060923 Gates for your pulleys.

I ordered my pulley through troyerperformance.com. For a 1999 changing both pulleys they suggest a 95" belt. I can't guarantee its the belt size you need because it may be a slightly different pulley, but I can't imagine it being to far off of that.

Clu, if you use an impact on the alt pulley it will come off a lot easier. you wouldn't have to fight to hold the pulley so much. the crank pulley use can just use a ratchet.

Hey Thanks for all the replys.

Hammerhead is right it is a K060950 (95") belt that is accordig to 95V6.
How are the pullies working for you hammerhead? Any alternator issues?

95V6 if I only had the crank pulley it is the belt # K060923, but I have the crank and alternator pulley so it is the belt #K060950, but the chart helped thanks.

Daddio if I had access to an impact wrench I'd use it but I will have to muscle it cause thats all I got.

Keep in mind that that is a 95" belt only if you use both pulleys. If you just go with the Crank pulley, the you will need a different size belt than a 95". If I recall I am running a 96.5" with just my crank pulley.

Alright. I got the ASP Pulleys on!! After a battle with a bunk tensioner pulley that also got replaced, the Crank and Alternator pulleys are changed!

I noticed a little more seat of the pants HP's, but the alternator pulley does cause me to have a variation in my battery gauge??

When I am at Idle the bat. guage is still in the "safe zone",but at the bottom side of it.
That is with (2) 500 watt amps going.
When I star Driving it returns to normal.

So is it going to hurt my alternator or battery or anything?

It is cold out here so I will have to see if I have any problems starting or chargeing.
I have only put a few miles on them so far.

that's exactly why i will not install the alt pulley on my dak. my truck will be 6 yrs old in Jan '06 and i still have the original battery. depending how much low speed driving you do your battery may die a premature death.
