Message: None, the engine noise is probably timing chain slap, they're notorious for stretching. Don't know about the rear noise, check U-joints maybe.

Message: i have a 1999 dodge dakota 3.9 liter and when i gave it gas in neutral or drive or park it would make a rattling noise.i looked at it and decide it was probally around my fan so i un hooked the battery terminals for safety and then felt the fanwiggled it and it felt like it had to much play so i took out the fan clutch. then i put the new clutch in i got it at auto zone $45.i also got the book for the dodge dakota and it is real good and helps a lot And since then it just ran great.
