Subject: 180 Thermostat runs about 170 IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know how accurate our temp gauges are? I put in a 180 thermostat a couple of months ago, and the gauge says it's running about 170 after being warmed up. I replaced the temperature sensors too, so they should be ok. I think it was a motorad thermostat from oreilly's. Let me know if you think I should go to the next higher thermostat, or if it won't even make a difference. I originally had a 195. I'm just trying to get a compromise between the best mileage, and smoothest running.

Message: Get someone with scanner check the temp. Either your thermostat is defective or possibly the thermostat sensor is bad. If the thermostat is defective replace it with a good quality like a super stant, Napa makes a good thermostat for about 10 to 12 dollars.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
