Subject: missing IP: Logged
Message: i changed all my plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. and my 1997 dakota sport is still low in power. it studders and back fires i checked all the wires and made sure they were all in the right places and they were. so what should i do next?

Message: Backfires? I'd check your plenum gasket...with the engine off, open the tb and see if you see a lot of oil residue down in the bottom of the intake. If you see a considerable amount, you've got a leak in your plenum gasket. Also would look for vacuum leaks.

Message: thanks , but i don't have any oil residue down in there i took off the air intake and looked down in there with a flash lite and nothing

Message: Like GB said, check for vacuum leaks as well. You also might want to clean you IAC(located on the back of the TB. held on by 2 torx screws. becareful not to ull or twist the pintle on the end though)
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: have you checked the ECM for trouble codes? if there are any, it helps alot! mine was doing the same thing @ 65k miles. it was the O2 sensor. I'm not saying that's your problem - there are many causes of

Message: can someone send me a numbered picture of the firing order i still think its messed up cause i checked everything and i still didn't find a leak i still haven't got any codes checked yet but im going to do that tommorow i'll be back on to let you guys know about the new news... i really would like to take this time out to thank all of you guys for the help...

Message: i went all over to get my truck on the machine to get a code hopefully, and no where i went did the code check. and the dodge dealership is down because of the hurricane that just passed down here in miami. so is there another place can try?

Message: i checked the firing order and it was good i added a bottle of fuel cleaner. and my truck is running fine. but i got my codes checked and they are P0108, P0113, P0138, P0171 can any one tell me what these codes mean?

P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
P0138 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
