Subject: HELP water getting into cab IP: Logged
Message: OK i have a 87 dakota. And its been raining like crazy lately. Ive gotten the problem that im getting water only on the floor of the passager side. I then backed up and more water poored down out of the vent for your feet(not the heat but the outside vent). SO i know thats where its comein from. Im wondering what is causeing this. Did something fall off letting water come in or is it how i park my truck at a slight incline that the water trickles in?
donno if this has happend to anyone else. Anyone got any ideas how to stop this. Its not great wakin up and goin to class in the morning with 2 inches of water at ur feet.

Message: It is likely the window seal. I have a 96 and had both the seal on the extended cab window leak and then more recently the big back window. Some polyurethane usually does the trick. Yours sounds like the front window, if you like in a hot climate the sealant they use will move over time and creat voids. Try your local autoglass shop they helped me fix the problem. $30 buck or so. Good luck

Message: I had the same problem on my '88, except I was washing my truck. When I backed up,there was even more water. It wasn't either window, turns out after disassembling the cowl, it was 16 years of leaves and dirt that plugged the drainage on the side. It filled with water and flowed into the vent. It is hard to reach all the way to the side but rinsed it well, and the problem went away.

Message: I have a '94 that had the same problem. After a heavy rain storm my passenger floor board would be soaked. Turns out the seal around the top corner of my windshield was leaking, the sealent under the rubber piece had oozed out. I had a couple of dings in the windshield anyway, so I had it replaced, problem fixed.
