Message: 99 dak 4x4 3.9 ax15 manual transmission. i have a seal leaking and the trans is whining..this is the second time the seal has gone and the guy who fixed it the last time put atf back in the trans. i may be wrong but i thought the ax 15 took heavy oil rather than atf. anyways, i dont have the time to fix the seal now but i cant find the fill plug for the transmission. is there something im missing? thanks for any help.

Message: thanks for the tip larry. i spent the better part of an hour looking all over the transmission for the fill plug and never could find what i was looking for. i was looking for the standard 3/8 plug you would find in any other vehicle. the only other idea i had was unbolting the shifter from the trans and filling it that way and resealing it with some red rtv. any thoughts? and help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: fill plug for the ax15 is on the driver side. up towards the top on the tranny just a little forward of the shifter. hope you have some sort of pump with a hose because it's a pain to get fluid in it.
