My low fuel indicator comes on at just a little past a quarter tank. I've run it all the way down to where the fuel gauge says that it's empty, and I've NEVER put more than 15 gallons in it to fill it up - yet it's supposed to have a 22 gallon tank.
I noticed the other day when I was under it changing the oil that the bottom of the tank is concave (curves inward) but the paint is smooth and it doesn't look like it's been in an accident or hit anything. Are they all like that?
At what point on your guage does your low fuel indicator come on, and is the bottom of your tank concave?

It's same on my truck. It comes up when there are ~6 gallons left.
95 3.9L 4WD V6, K&N, Gibson exh, JBA hdrs, JET stage II, MSD 6A and more..

Ur light comes on with 6 gallons left? My light comes on with 1/8 tank left...supposedly. I was told my truck had 22 gal tank but I've never put more than 17 and that was on E. Maybe I need to test this out. I argued with the guy at the dealership about this because he gave me a paper with everything my truck has and I told him no way.

On my 95, it is supposed to come on with 1/8 (2.something gallons) of a tank left. Since changing my fuel pump, it comes one with about 4 gallons left. M

I believe they designed the light to come on early because the fuel helps to cool the fuel pump, which is inside the tank. Late '60s, and '70 mopars I had would be out of gas when the gauge hit empty; while other manufacturers left you a buffer. People griped about that too.

on my '00 it comes on at 1/8 of a tank. supposed to be 3 gallons and it's pretty close. if i fill up right when the light goes on i can put about 20 gallons in a 24 gallon tank. i've run it to the empty mark and put right at 24 in it.
my tank in not concave and it's not painted. it's plastic. it is huge though.

My light comes on at 1/8 of a tank. When i fill it up at at 1/8 it holds 18 gallon.

Have you replaced the fuel pump? You still have the factory one there? On my 95, the manual says it comes on with 1/8 tank left (22 gal tank = 2.75 gal). Mine used to work that way until I replaced the fuel pump, now it comes on with about 4 gallons left.

Mine comes on when my o/c says there are 46 miles left till empty. I have a 24 gallon tank, but have never put more than 19 gallons into the tank.

mine is listed as a 13 gallon tank. The light comes on when my gauge reads 1/8 tank to go.

I have a 22 gallon tank, and the light comes on when I need 16 to fill it. I've never gone below that.

Yea ran around last weekend til it was on the E and all I put in was 17 on my supposedly 22 gal tank. Either the dealers way confused or my guage is.

i can drive mine on the E back and forth to school whichs is 6miles away for the whole week, probably.
the most i have put in is close to 20 gals.

Eh guess I just need to drive around with a gas can in the back to see what'll happen when I run out. Stay in town that way I know about how much gas is still in there.
