Subject: Timing Chain Tensioner

I will be replacing the timing chain and tensioner on my
97 3.9L. I already ordered the chain set and tensioner.
The tensioner has a little wire thing that holds the piece
that actually applies the tension to the chain. You can
see the pictures in larry's how-to. It looks like it is
supposed to be pulled out after you get the chain and
sprockets on. My question is, Is it supposed to be
pulled out. Thanks.

Yes, it's just there to hold the tensioner back during installation.
