Subject: Timing Chain Tensioner IP: Logged
Message: I will be replacing the timing chain and tensioner on my
97 3.9L. I already ordered the chain set and tensioner.
The tensioner has a little wire thing that holds the piece
that actually applies the tension to the chain. You can
see the pictures in larry's how-to. It looks like it is
supposed to be pulled out after you get the chain and
sprockets on. My question is, Is it supposed to be
pulled out. Thanks.

Message: Yes, it's just there to hold the tensioner back during installation.
