Subject: Hornet under the hood! IP: Logged
Message: Went and did some regular maintenance over the weekend - put in APP3923's, brass distributor cap and button, removed the air horn from the intake, ripped off the rubber piece from the the front (finally), replaced the PCV, changed my Amsoil and filter.
At 48K, the stock cap and button were pretty well burnt up, and believe me, getting the stock cap off was a pain. Those factory guys must be 800-pound gorillas, because I didn't think I'd EVER get the screw on the left side loose. Just couldn't get any leverage.
Anyway - it drove fine this afternoon, but all of a sudden this evening, I get this loud buzzing that sounds like it's near the firewall (cause it sounds like it's in the dash, and you can't hear it as well with the hood up).
I checked everything, and nothing is loose - everything I replaced is nice and tight.
Any ideas, anybody? The sound really does sound like one of those huge-a$$ Japanese hornets!

Message: Hmmm. Actually, I got the PCV at O'Reilley's like the guy in the post you referred me to. I'll check it out in the morning - that's probably it. Darn buck-fifty-nine part!

Message: O'Reilly part buzzed, but was $1.59. Stealership price for a stock part was $6.79 - no buzz. Getting rid of the noise was worth $5 more, I guess.
