Message: Figure on $400 to $500 for headers, and $600 to $700 for port work, provided you pull the heads beforehand. If you get someone to do the whole deal, figure on around $1500 to $2000 for everything.

Message: Ported heads and headers will only increase the potential of the engine to make more power. You may see up to 25hp for the porting and headers. But the true potential of your engine will not be reached until you improve the valve lift (camshaft), and the intake side of the equation (porting). If you port the heads and intake manifold, along with a mild cam and headers, you could see as much as 75-80 hp increase, provided you increase fuel delivery and spark energy.

Message: Hmmm, probably 70-90hp over stock. Figure around 250-260hp at the crank, 200-210hp at the wheels. With 200hp going to the wheels, your truck should move pretty damn fast.

Message: what if i just wanted to port the heads and the intake manifold without the cam because that begins to get more complicated and gas consuming which im not looking into now
heh i should try and port heads myself it would take a long time but it would save me 700

Message: nub i'd put more thought into that
if your not familiar with porting you could do more harm then good
opening the ports to much will rob you of bottom & mid range trq. & hp
and low and mid is what you want to build for street engines and MPG minded
