 Subject: Small add ons to make 3.9 run better

I have a 91 3.9 v6 and i want to add a little more HP & Acceleration with out killing the gass mileage. Don't get me wrong my truch will run but u can't ever have to much power?
I have a turbo muffler ( Not Name Brand but better then stock )
I just got a K&N Air Filter ( i think it helped)
I read some old post and u guys are motor heads so take it easy on me i'm not and the truck only has 100,000 on it so no big , or big price stuff

Was just reading more on old post i got an other qustion , Oxygen sensors if bad will make the truck burn more gass right? how the h*ll do it know if it's bad .......

when the O2 sensor dies it should set the MIL and have a code. Auto Zone reads codes for free or spend 20 bucks and ge t Haynes manual. it will also help when repairs are needed.

Poor O2 sensor doesn't necessarily throw code especially on the older trucks OBD1 computer.
If fuel mileage is poor , and engine may be
spluttering at times , especially after starting
up after a short stop - 5 to 10 minutes
Then O2 sensor is going -=-

At the miles on your truck , unless it has been replaced recently ( last year or two ) , then it probably needs it , AND it will pay for itself in reduced fuel required..
About $ 50 to $ 70 for a new one - part price..

As performance goes up, mileage goes down. thats just the way it is.

Not necessarily...while there are some mods where that's true (ie. 180*F thermo, IAT relocation, supercharger), many mods actually will increase your gas mileage IF you're able to keep the same driving style. Of course generally people's mileage does go down because as performance goes up, so does the weight of their right foot.

Cool GenIII , i'm checking in to all those mods
and a new O2 sensor
Now I know this will kill my gass ..... but will the 318 throttle body bolt right on to my V6 3.9 and is it really going to help

ok i just call advance they told me 195*f came stock but they have a 205*f and it's only $5.00 , thats what i'm talking about

Yeah, the 5.2 TB will bolt directly onto the manifold. The only thing you will have to change will be the throttle cable adapter and of course the gasket.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.
