Message: i just got my truck back from the local exhaust shop a few days ago, and for a v6 it sounds great, its got the nice rumble i wanted. they put in a hi-flo cat, a flo-pro single in dual out muffler, with tips out the back. the only problem is it feels like i might have lost some low end power/torque. i was just wondering what a quick/easy/cheap way to get that back would be, as i am a college student i am VERY VERY short on cash. any feed back would be great. oh yeah its a 1998 4x4 ext. cab
Thanks

Message: Did they use the original 2.5 inch pipe or did they go bigger? If they went bigger or the pipes flare alot torward the end, you probably lost the much needed minumum back-pressure for the magnum engine.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: i have no current mods. i have replaced cap and rotor, i have new plugs and wires, but that was just preventative maintenance.
the guy said he used 2.5 in and 2.25 dual out the rear(i havent measure to be sure) then he put on magnoflow tips, approx 18 in. long, and they are flared a little bigger than the pipe. all pipe is for sure smaller than 3 in.

Message: i am also not looking for a fast truck or anything like that, i just want the low end back. i dont use the truck for racing at all, its just my daily driver/tow my dads boat and snowmobiles when my mom has his truck.
