Subject: radiator replacement IP: Logged
Message: I am getting ready to replace the disintegrating radiator in my 89 V6 Dakota. I was wondering, does the stock 22" wide radiator have tranny cooler fittings? My truck has no A/C, but does have a tranny cooler mounted in front of the stock radiator. So would the tranny use both the radiator cooler and external cooler??? Or would the fittings on the radiator be plugged because of the external cooler?

Message: it should use both, the factory uses both,
trans to rad;rad to cooler;cooler to trans
the radiator is like a pre-cooler
just make sure the out of trans line[flow] goes to the rad first, then out of rad to cooler, then from cooler to the in line to trans or you,ll be putting hot fluid back in trans
hope you can understand my directions
