so i got the 3923's let the engine cool for like an hour, went to pull the old ones and those bastards were in there good! Am i just an idiot cause i figured with a warm block the plugs would be easier to take out than with a cold one. Any suggestions for taking them out?? And should i use the washers and how tight should i put them in? I know what the box says, but im just making sure. Thanks for the help

I broke the plug off on the number 2 cylinder when I went to change mine. Luckily my neighbor next door is a truck mechanic and had a set of easy outs....it was worth the case of beer I had to buy him to extract the threaded part out of the head.

Just be careful not to wrench on them hard. And before you put the new ones in, apply some anti-seize compound to it. I bought a small pack for 90 cents and there was enough to do all 6 plugs.

Good luck...

I changed out my plugs to the 3923 yesterday and I've got some war wounds to prove it! Getting at those plugs was a challenge and they were in there very tight. I just used 5/8 plug socket to get them out.

I had no problems changing mine out, again. I was running the Champion truck plugs and got tired of the detonation problems I was having. The champions came out easier than the factory originals that were in the truck when I bought it.

The only "war wounds" is from the number 6 cylinder where the power brake booster makes it more difficult in getting the socket in there.

So far, no problems with the 3923 Autolite plugs that I put in...
