Subject: need fog light wiring diagram IP: Logged
Message: Does anybody have a wiring diagram for aftermarket fog lights that uses a 4 pin relay and a 3 pin switch? I have a set of pilot nv-502w driving lights that I want to wire up but don't want to tap into the parking or headlights. I've done a search on the web but came up with nothing i can use that allows me to run the lights and relay without directly wiring the lights to the parking/headlights. The pilot set has a 15amp fused main power wire that connects to the battery and runs to the switch (red wire), a white positive wire that runs to the fog lights and then to the switch also and then the ground wires for the fog lights and a separate ground for the switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: I think (and might be wrong here) that the wiring for the fog lights includes new switch and harness that replaces the headlight/pk light switch in your dash now.
If you don't have a pigtail of wires (like the tweeter harness in the door even if you don't have tweeters installed) in the area the lights would be on the lower valance, then you can't tap in to anything and have to use a relay or a manual switch.

Message: guess i should have mentioned this before but i was planning on running the lights off the back on the sides of my receiver hitch so when i'm up north with no street lights i can hook up with the trailer no problem. It will also make backing up on the logging roads at night a bit easier to. I've read that using a relay can increase the light output by 30%.
