I was checking out a 4.7 Dakota and I thought about buying it but heck it only has 210hp my V6 has 195hp I think I will just keep my Black Sport Dakota 1999 45K on it?

Ken99Dakv6: you do know that a stock v6 99 dakota has only 175 hp right? not 195 or did you add mods to get yours to 195 and if yes what did you add to it to give you 195?

The 4.7 V8 engine puts out 230/235 HP depending upon how many cats it has and the Dodge HO version rates at 250HP. (Jeep's 4.7 HO puts out 265HP.)
The 3.7 V6's rating is 210HP.

Question: Is the 4.7 based on HP at the flywheel or Rear Wheels? Because the v6 only has 125 at wheels. As Modain stated 3.7 -210hp and 4.7/4.7HO -230/260hp. Another thing you might want to consider is Torque.

Those number I quoted are flywheel numbers. So are the following...
1999-2004 4.7 TQ = 295
2005 4.7 TQ = 290
Jeep 4.7 HO TQ = 335? (Not sure, but it's more than the Dodge)
2005 4.7 HO TQ = 310
I think the 3.7 TQ is 265.

All mods included on my truck equal 195 at flywheel I just have been checking out some clean used Dakotas and drove a few I have standard cab = less weight + mods and I have not timed anything but off the line and for about 8 truck lengths I did not seem to notice a huge differece or I expected to much maybe antway just shopping and trying to get owners of V8s input before I jump in and get rid of my nice truck?
