Do it yourself its pretty simple. But just replace the entire dist. Its not that expensive and all the components are new then. just put the motor at TDC and take out the hold down bolt at the base of the dist. pull it out and put the new one in with the rotor pointing to the #1 cyl line in the dist. if you need a more detailed exp. Let us know.. that was the crash course.

this dist only lasted 10k miles, shaft bent, need gear & bushing that dist shaft fit into replaced,
no shops here will do it, they say they need tools they dont have. thanks

offer to buy the tools for them, then keep them and rent them out to the lazy tight wad cheapo mechanics every time they need them. What ever happend to mechanics prideful enough to own the whole snap-on catalog so they could do any job that came in the door?
