Message: My 94' dakota's (6 cyl, automatic) tranny is starting to slip. My question is, I have a buddy that will give me a working 91' dakota tranny from a 6 cyl automatic but he doesn't know if the torque converters are the same. Does anyone out there know for sure?

Message: I have a '94 6cyl, auto as well and my tranny went down the crapper too around 70,000 miles. I got a new one in there now, but the one i put in was slightly larger than the stock so some things had to be modded, it runs fine now, still no big issues with maintanence. the only issue is sometimes the Gear shifter doesn't recognize it being in park, and consequently it will not start when i turn the key. I just have to flip the shifter back and forth a few times to re-align it.
Hope it helped
Good Luck,
Eric
