Message: What I did with my 3.9 was delete the muffler entirely..split the exhaust behind the cat convert.keep the co2 detec. go duels out the back with 2 in.pipe.Put a K&N filter on it with a Tornato Fuel saver...no I don't sell fuel savers !!! and my milage has ALMOST doubled...well A LOT better anyway !! It is VERY loud but...who cares ??? I'm the one buying the gas !!My motorcycle is louder than that & the cops leave me alone on that!! Often asked if I have a Hemi ?? I lie to them lolol say yes !!!But it does sound great & gets great fuel milage!!The local police-sherrif-RCMP-marshall-want-a-b-cop ..my not like the noise ..so check what you might get away with around your area.I run straight pipes on my bikes & have no problem so that was a good indication to me I could get away with it.!! It is noisy and if you live in a city where the sound will bounce off buildings...be careful..there are noise police out there!! GOOD LUCK GUYS !!!

Message: what yr. is the truck???
and if you gained by tossing the muffler
i'll bet it's only because it was clogged!
any good performance muffler will add more gains then no muffler at all (street driven)
"low to mid rpm range"
only time i can see gain's with no muffler would be a street/strip set up or all strip
(mid and upper rpm's)
hell alot of the race guys now are even running a race muffler because there times show better gains "with" (and I'm not talking pro stock, top fuel or funny cars)
so i'd sure like to see proof of your claims
