Subject: timing set IP: Logged
Message: I was going to replace my timing chain and put a tensioner on got all parts from factory . then I was reading and someone said I was wasting my money get a dbl roller it's better is that true anyone please help , p.s I have a 94 sport and I love it .

Message: The best chain to get is the double roller. The single chain that dodge puts on factory is not the best in the world, even with the tensioner. I just bought one myself, just haven't had the time to install it yet. Just remember to get a complete set, chain/sprockets/etc.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: The aftermarket rollers are much better. The OEM units are good enough to do the job, but that's all. Before EFI, the 318's actually got a chain that was narrower, and the cam gear had nylon teeth! How cheap is that? It got the job done, but after 50K miles, it got ugly in a hurry.

when ever i've replaced a chain on my own
or helping a buddy allways been a double roller
& my own personal opin. i like Cloyes best
Jegs & Summit both carry them ....
