Hey. I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota magnum
V-6. My question is: Does my truck have a fuel
injection system or a carburetor? I don't have
an owner's manual on it and it looks like a
carburetor to me, but I have been told
otherwise. Thanks for any help.

Chris

it's fuel injection... probably a Throttle Body injection if it looks like a carb. i don't know when they switched over to multi port.

Could be the fuel filter... although that tends to be a 'starved for fuel' instance where you push the gas down and the engine sputters...

If I remember correctly there is an issue with the 94-96 Dakota Distributor ring (or something like that?), supposedly if you can wiggle the distributor, it's bad and needs replaced. I think sputtering was one of the signs of it.

Another could be a clogged catlytic convertor, bad cap/rotor, worn plugs, or clogged/dirty fuel injectors. Start with the cheap first, give the truck a tuneup! (New Cap/Rotor, Wires, Plugs, Run some fuel injector cleaner through it, new PCV Valve, new air-filter)
