Subject: heater/ac blower on 1994 dodge dakota IP: Logged
Message: I want to test my heater/ac blower motor. It has stopped working. I thought about just jumping it to the battery just to see if it would work before tearing the dash apart. Could anyone tell me the color of the wires going to the blower motor to check this. Or the best way to do this. I have already replaced the resistor pack on the firewall.

Message: I would say it should be safe to test the wiring to the resitor pack from the battery side. If that is good, it would either be the blower motor, the hvac controls or the connection from the resitor to the blower motor.
In either case, you need to take dash apart anyway (though you can take the hvac unit out just by removing the dash bezel).

Message: The resistor module is located under the hood on the pass side of the fire wall. Its held in with 2 sheet metal screws.Pry slighly on the unit as you unscrew it as the screws have a sholder on them. Its a good bet you will find the resisters burnt open.Cost about 12$ at dodge dealer.qlty@webtv.net
