Finally got around to changing the sparkplugs on my 98 Dakota...... Boy, that #5 plug was a bear to get out with the power brake booster right there!!!! Sure glad I won't have to mess with it for another 100K miles!!!

1, you should replace your plugs every 30K not 100.
2, use a universal joint on top of the plug socket wrench with a short extension on top of that then the ratchet and you will be amazed at how easy it is.
3, done mine twice and coming up to the third change at 90k and enjoy it.

It's not so easy if it's still got the original plugs from the factory in...breaking a plug free with the universal joint at almost a 90* angle is one MAJOR pain in the ass (or hand/arm if it hits something when the plug breaks free).

Ditto Dakkid...on the edge of a f'n ziptie nonetheless! Blood was everywhere and the scar was quite hideous for a couple months. Definitely *should* have gotten stitches...lol

It taught me to wear thick leather gloves next time I need to break something that tight free...haha.
