Subject: o2 Sensor IP: Logged
Message: I am needing to know what the voltage should be for a properly working o2 sensor, both front and rear. and if either one needs to be switching between 2 voltages.

Message: 0.1VDC(high o2, lean fuel) to 0.9VDC (low o2, rich fuel) This is directly from the haines manual: "Turn the ing. on but do not start engine. Connect your voltmeter neg(-) to a good ground and pos(+) to the ox sensor signal wire and the o2 sensor connector. Meter should read approx 0.40-0.45 VDC. If does trace and repair circuit(from sensor to PCM)
Next start engine and let it warm up to normal operating temp and again check ox sensor signal voltage. Voltage on upstream should range from 0.1-0.9 VDC and switch actively between high and low readings. Voltage from the downstream sensor should also read between 0.1-0.9 VDC but should not actively switch. It may stay more toward it midrange(0.4VDC) or stay for relatively long periods in it high or low range."
There is alot more to it but I will give you a abridged version: "Check resistance of o2 sensor heater(should be between 4.0-7.0 ohms) If open or short read, replace sensor."

Message: I am trying not to have to buy a new sensor. I want to try to make my own simulator if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Message: yeah I already have that saved to my favorites. If I can not get the oxygen sensor to work right with a constant voltage then I am going to build that.
