I have a 96 dakota v6 magnum with about 168000 miles on it, but still runs great. I just ahve been having a problem of it stalling when i shift it from park to drive or drive to reverse. When I start it again i gotta put it in drive or reverse or nuetral and give it a little gas. My son drives this truck sometimes so I was jsut wondering what the problem is if anyone can help.

Thanks.

The few times I had this happen, the truck had been sitting a few days and the battery was low. The tachometer board draws 100 mA with engine off, so the voltage was low enough that the sensors did not respond properly until I'd driven the truck enough at higher speeds to charge the battery. Now I pull the fuse between uses, until I can rewire the tach board not to draw power with the engine off.
