Message: Another update on my project--
Just got an email from Harland Sharp and they said that they would be happy to sponsor my project. I will be getting the 1.7 roller rockers (Part number S7004). Another company that I definately recommend.

Message: Awesome... when you get the rockers installed, let us know how much difference that mod alone made. They're on my to-do list in the very near future.

Message: No problem. It'll be a little while before I get these parts installed but I'll keep everyone updated. I have a few questions:
Should I put FMS 19# injectors in too?
Also, what is the best distributor cap/rotor to put on (there's not too many options)?

Message: hell, go for broke and get those FMS too! but, i believe the '00's up should have 21# injectors. that's what's in my '00 QC 3.9. i bought a Borg Warner rotor & cap from O'reilly's w/ brass contacts. forgot the part numbers though.
give bruce @ five-o-motorsports an email or call and he'll know what you need.

Message: Thanks daddio-
I think I will see what I can do about getting a set of those FMS 21# injectors. I'll check out the B/W distributor too. I just got done doing the TPS mod--man such a small thing can make a big difference.

Message: the smartest thing you could have done was call the companies. my dumba$$ would have just payed out for all that stuff. just shows what a little effort and people skills can do. great idea by the way for a senior project. not only will you get the grade but you'll end up with one bad dak!

Message: you have some good mods. if i had to guess i think ur truck would be in the 140 hp area and 180tq, not being a dick just my opinion. i definately think you should throw a superchips at it. that will definatly wake it up. if you want u should take the intake manifold off and cut the runners about a inch, take out the center divider open the top bores to match the gasket and most of all smooth everything out! good luck and have fun

Message: That's 175hp and 225ft. lbs tq AT THE CRANK...while those numbers look good, what really matters is what's making it to the wheels, which is what that estimate is for after calculating the gain from the mods along with drivetrain loss.

Message: Hey all-
Just got back from the Dyno. I had two pulls and got:
135 HP
205 TQ
I thought that those numbers were pretty impressive considering I have a stock truck with only a cat-back exhaust (Flowmaster 40). The Harland Sharp 1.7 RR are going on my truck on Thursday and another Dyno run will be on Monday.

Message: Installed the Roller Rockers today after school. I noticed a difference in throttle response, but just a little difference in the lower RPMs. It's when you get to the higher RPMs and a higher speed, that you can really feel a noticeable increase in power. Also, when you are at 30-45 mph and stomp on the gas, you can feel a good difference.
I will Dyno the truck on Monday to see the actual HP/TQ numbers. I'll keep everyone updated.
