howdy dak peeps
long time no post...well for me anyways....i dunno if this has been a repeat question or not. Im sure most of the Daks with 16" rims came with 255/65/16's on them if i remember correctly. thats what mine came with. But since then i put 225/60/16's on there. i guess the original tire migth be an odd size, i havent found to many places with that size. well my question is, whats a good size to run, or what have yall got on your turcks? i was think maybe 235/70/16's i dunno though, maybe i should go back to the stock size...i was gunna lower my truck, but i kinda dont want to now....tia...later....

I just got some Kumho Road Venture A/T's from the tire rack to replace the goodyear wrangler radials, which by the way, are the biggest piles of sh!t tires to ever be made. They are actually made with a runout in them! No wonder they shake so damn bad. So, back to the Kumhos. For $254 shipped, these are the best damn tires I've ever owned. Quiet, smooth, tough-looking, they grab like stink, and corner pretty well too. They are the best tire for the money. And it cost me $100 dollars installed with an alignment.

Do you have a lift on your Dak to fit your tires?
I'm putting 265/70/R17 on mine with no lift. Wondered if anyone had done something similar without rubbing problems.

I am running the stock size for my truck LT 235/75-R15. BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's....Best tire I have ever owned. I agree about the GoodStanks...I had a set of those and they shook like crazy.

No, actually I have a 2/4 drop. The only place that I have a problem with rubbing is when I turn lock to lock and then it rubs slightly on the frame rails.

Ah cool...so I shouldn't have any trouble then with mine. I read somewhere on here and have heard from other people that 32/11.75s are about as big as I can go with the stock height. The tires I have roughly translate to 31.6/10.5. So, looks like I should be fine! I've been a bit concerned! They go on tonight so I guess I'll see for sure then!
I may end up crankin' the t-bars a bit and adding a leaf in the back. Should look pretty good.

Different tires on different rims give different results. My truck is 99 with no flares and factory 17x9 wheels. The tires are 275/60/17 HP Wranglers.

Well, I tried my new wheels and tires on my truck tonight. Unfortunately, one of my wheels was damaged while the tires were being mounted, so I have to wait for a replacement before I can put them on permanently! :-(
Anyway, the 265/70/17s fit without rubbing. There is ONE spot that is kinda tight. The bottom screw holding on the front fender gets within 1/4" of the tire. But I think crankin' the T's up about an inch will leave me free and clear!
